We were using the burlap exclusively for place mats and runners until one day Jane and Mary Ruth dared each other to jump into the ocean off Isleboro, Maine. The air was crisp, the water was cold. Once out of the water they wrapped themselves in long pieces of linen burlap.
Wonderful! Comfortable, absorbent, stimulating, and absolutely no scratchiness.
The idea of a linen throw/comforter was born. We chose checked and plaid fabrics for trim and add a South Street block print for fun.
We ended up with a beautiful throw. We think it would also make a great picnic, beach or stadium blanket.
